About

The foundation Amsterdam Burlesque Revue is brought to you by producers Flora Gattina, Willemijn Laan, and Madame Magneta. With our extensive experience and passion, we have produced numerous successful burlesque shows.

At the heart of it all we want our revue to be a celebration of beauty and sensuality in all its forms. Through the artful peeling away of layers—both literal and metaphorical—we reveal the depths of clothing, art, and personality.

The foundation

Floortje Laan

Artistic director
Stage name: Flora Gattina

A blush of admiration appeared on the cheeks of the judges at Holland’s Got Talent in 2010, where Flora Gattina reached the finals with her uniquely elegant style and spectacular polesque acts. Now, this experienced and stylish performer with a powerful stage presence has been active in the Dutch burlesque scene for over 15 years. As Headmistress of the Amsterdam School of Burlesque, she is an expert in the art of seduction. Together with her sister Willemijn Laan, she founded a thriving movement studio rasalila and has been organizing various successful shows for years.

Tessy Ernst

Business manager
Stage name: Madame Magneta

Tessy has proven her expertise in the business field as a serial entrepreneur. She has been very successful in leading two medium-sized companies (one of which she started herself and one she took over in a management buyout). She expanded these companies and after 11 years, successfully sold them to a new owner. This demonstrates her excellent leadership capabilities with diverse teams and her strong business and financial acumen. These qualities form a perfect combination with her later development as a performer, as Madame Magneta making her a valuable asset to this production team.

Willemijn Laan

Executive producer

Willemijn has been the founder and managing director of Conscious Movement Studio Rasalila in Amsterdam since 2009 (together with her sister Floortje Laan), where a wide range of movement classes are offered; from aerial classes to pole dancing, and from yoga to burlesque. From Rasalila, the Amsterdam School of Burlesque (ASOB) emerged over the past 10 years, where she fulfills the same role as she does for Rasalila. ASOB has proven to be the foundation of much burlesque talent, and the school has organized multiple burlesque shows per year with its students for the past decade. Since the start of ASOB, most current burlesque performers in the Netherlands have come from the school.
